We had a great time in Poland!  I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed

Hi Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to write. I am very particular about how i
string my gtrs. I make a "Z" through the peg-head by pulling up on the
end and down on the slack side. I go over the "end" the first wrap and
then under all of the other winds. I usually like only 2 or 3 wraps
under before the string is taught. Then I have my tech stretch the
hell out of them from the bridge to the nut. I stretch by fretting all
the up the neck with my left hand, while pulling up with my right, just
in front of my left hand. I do that all the way down the neck. Then i
retune the string and repeat stretching, then tuning till it doesn't
loose pitch after I stretch. Then i move on to the next string. I use
GHS 11-54. Also, and this is very important, I usually hit the strings
with my fingernails and NOT my pick. I play mostly with my fingers
(though i am always holding a pick). I generally prefer the sound of
my fingers. I am constantly switching back and forth between pick and
fingers. Another thing, make sure that you don't have any burs in your
saddle or your nut. When you break strings, check and see where they
are breaking. If it is always in the same place (like right at the
saddle), then you probably have a bur and you should take it to a tech
to have it filed out.
