Hi guys, Slash came out to give autographs outside the restaurant of Hotel Olympia Spodek. The head of security initially announced that he's not coming, but for those who know how a bluff looks like, this was a clear one. First, his manager with his bodyguard came out of the venue and they checked how many people were waiting there. Then, the head of security said that Slash left from another entrance, which looked suspicious, and after a while we were told to form a queue and take no photos, as he would be signing one item per person, which he did.
The majority of the people standing there, me with my girlfriend and a friend, had booked rooms in the hotel, and there was the entrance, so we could just walk around, provided that we had a room key, which we did. Everything was really cool. Slash was great, the concert awesome! I come from Greece so I have been to concerts of wild frenzy, but what was going on in the front was unacceptable, especially when stupid kids were encouraging the so-called "wave" before the concert starts. We were from the right side of the scene in the 4-5 row, and even if I could stand this bullshit my female co-rockers couldn't, so we went back where we enjoyed it as much. Of course our biggest advantage was the hotel reservation. A truly strategic move!
When we were in the hotel's restaurant, we heard whispers that the press conference would be held there, and I saw Slash's manager and journalists chatting. So we were like, let's order more and more to wait for the conference. Eventually, they moved it somewhere else inside the hotel.
Anyway, everything was superior! Rocket Queen's improvization solo was exstatic! I kinda hoped for a better sound, as it was not so clear in some songs. But you cannot have it all! Or maybe you can? We bought T-shirts in the beginning, when there were still available in all sizes and we got the original playlist and two tickets signed, and a guitar pick! Who could ask for more?!
