Duff McKagan wziął udział w przygotowaniu i nagraniu płyty grupy Walking Papers, której wokalistą i gitarzystą jest Jeff Angell (The Missionary Position), a perkusistą Barrett Martin (The Screaming Trees). Zespół gra muzykę określaną jako blues rock. Duff nagrał oczywiście partie basowe i wspiera muzyków także na koncertach.
W linku znajdziecie recenzję jednego z występów, który odbył się w minionym tygodniu.
Album grupy zapowiedziany jest na 2 października 2012 roku.

A co ma robić jak Slash ma swojego Mylesa.  :P

Przez tą solową karierę kudłatego faktycznie jakoś tak mniej od dłuższego czasu i Matta i Duffa wszędzie...

Matt gra dziś, bodajże w Viper Roomie, z Diamond Baby, ale umówmy się... to nie są Velveci ;) :P Nie mogę nawet powiedzieć o fenomenalnym secie, bo jest zero informacji póki co. Ważne, że Duff robi coś konkretnego, ciekawe, kiedy nowa płyta Loaded, bo w sumie trasa niedługo :)

Miejmy nadzieję, że jest jeszcze jakaś nadzieja, że Velveci jednak się zejdą. A co do Duffa to zgadzam się z wami. Dobrze, że ciągle coś robi. Miejmy nadzieję, że wyjdzie z tego coś dobrego.

Chłopaki przecież mają też inne zajęcia - Duff z tego co kojarzę zajmuje się biznesem no i skrobnie sobie od czasu do czasu do jakiejś gazetki. A Matt z tego co pamiętam zajmuje się ciuszkami ;)

Walking Papers is a new blues-rock band formed by Jeff Angell and Barrett Martin, two long-serving veterans of the Seattle music scene. Jeff previously sang and played guitar for the bands Post Stardom Depression and The Missionary Position, and Barrett, a drummer and multi-instrumentalist, played for grunge pioneers Skin Yard and Screaming Trees, as well as the super groups Mad Season and Tuatara…

This debut album features a stellar cast of additional musicians who have each added their unique musical voice to the album: Visceral bass lines from Duff McKagan (Guns & Roses, Velvet Revolver), blistering guitar solos from Mike McCready (Pearl Jam, Mad Season), elegant keyboard stylings from Benjamin Anderson, and soulful horn arrangements from Dave Carter (Trumpet), Dan Spalding (Baritone Sax), and Ed Ulman (Trombone). The album was recorded by Catherine Ferrante at Avast Studios in Seattle, and mixed by Jack Endino at Soundhouse in Seattle. Mastering was done by Chris Hanzsek at Hanzsek Audio.  The album will be released on October 2, 2012.

Walking Papers show on their debut album that a great song can be conveyed through percolating marimbas, vibraphone, piano, and trumpet, just as easily as it can with thundering drums, bass, and a howling guitar solo. The songs on this album stand alone as individual stories, but taken together as a whole, they tell a much larger narrative that conveys the tales of wandering souls, the collisions of will, and the dark beauty of the American heart that is ever searching for truth and meaning in a collapsing world.
