NighTrain Station Guns N' Roses

Przeglądając sieć (jak zawsze jak to ja) natknąłem się na artykuły o niewydanym albumie GNR z 1996 roku.
Po wydaniu "The Spaghetti Incident?" Axl i Spółka przygotowywali sie do nagrania nowej płyty. podobno miało się znaleźć od 10 do 12 utworów na krążku. Większość, o ile nie całość została nagrana, z tego co wiemy to jedynie mogliśmy usłyszeć This I Love.
Większość sądzi, że materiał na płytę był ten sam co Slash wydał na swojej płycie Slash's Snakepit "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" - choć opinie są rózne. Z tego co pamiętam, Axlowi nie bardzo podobały sie kompozycje Slash'a i doszło do spięć w zespole (rok 1994-1995).
Wydaje mi się (moja opinia), że ten materiał nie był opublikowany przez (byłych już) członków zespołu na ich własnych krążkach - chodzi mi o Slash'a oraz Duff'a. Chociaż kto to tam teraz wie ........

Axl widział wielki potencjał również w Mattcie:
"We're really into letting Matt go more off on his own in terms of drumming for GNR. [...] When he goes off on his own creative sense it's pretty amazing. I want to facilitate that getting out. I want Matt to just explode on the next record." (Axl, Hit Parader, 1993)

"Slash as been working on a lot of things, working on a lot of riffs with the band. I've just been working on where my head's at on things so I can approach the next record in a way that lets me go to farther extremes. If I'm going to express anger, I want to take that farther, and if I'm expressing happiness and joy I want to take that farther too. We really haven't really sat down to collaborate on songs yet. I wrote and recorded a new love song that I want on the next record called This I Love, that's the heaviest thing that I've ever done. Other than that, we're not even sure how we're gonna approach writing for this next album. Last time Slash would write his songs, I would write mine and Izzy would write his, and then we'd put ‘em all together. Well, this time there's no Izzy, and Slash isn't writing just his songs - it's gonna be more of a collaboration thing. We don't know if we're gonna be writing with Gilby or somebody else. Dave Dominguez o This I Love
"This I Love' is actually an old GN'R song that the original GN'R wrote and recorded for the 'Illusion' records. I like that song a lot.. it took a couple of weeks to find all the tapes because they finished recording 'Use Your Illusions' on the road and one tape was in Paris (June 1992) another in London (August 1992) and another in Sydney (January 1993), I believe." Duff opowiada o tym jak razem ze Slash'em zaczęli komponowac nowe piosenki oraz o współpracy z Zakk Wylde:
"We started going to Slash's house. [...] He has a little studio there and we had a batch of songs. But, ya' know what? Without Izzy, we just weren't writing the old way. We had a bunch of great songs, but the way we used to write wasn't all sitting in a room and trying to force ourselves to be a family. We just were. But there was a point up there where it was looking good and we started cranking out songs, but it just started falling apart." (Duff, Metal Edge, 06/99)

"Even when Zakk Wylde and Slash played together, there were a couple of songs in which there was a natural progression and they were very rocking. You can imagine, they were really hard songs. "In April, 1995, Duff calls me again: 'I'm trying to compose new songs for the guys in GN'R. Come and give me a hand.' It made five and that I'd left Guns but I said myself: 'Well shit, after all, why not?' Duff and I wrote ten pieces in the space of week. We even recorded them as demos." A więc jednak Axl'owe kompozycje górą.... (czyżby któryś z tych kawałków przetworzył się przez te lata i przeszedł na krążek Chinese ? )

(Duff, Addicted to Noise, 08/30/96) - ciekawe przecież This I Love jest bez wątpienia balladowa......a może ona nie miała znaleźć się na tym krążku? tylko na kolejnym ?

Ostatnia przytoczona wypowiedź Axla o riffach Slasha nie jest krytyczna, wręcz przeciwnie.

ok miałem źłe przeczucie, żle widać odebrałem  poprawiam

Wielkie dzięki daub za poświęcony czas.Bardzo ciekawy temat i przynajmniej dla mnie wnoszący wiele ciekawych informacji.
W ogóle nie wiedziałem, że Izzy wraz z Duff'em tworzyli razem z myślą o  Gn'R.
Fajnie zobaczyć jakie piosenki mógł (lecz nie musiał) zawierać krążek.Teraz to już pewnie nie ma takiego znaczenia jak chociażby nowa(jak ktoś chce może to sobie wziąć w cudzysłów) płyta obecnego wcielenia zespołu.Warto jednak wiedzieć coś na temat czasów po Use Your Illusion Tour bo działo się wtedy dużo a moja wiedza ma się nijak do tego wszystkiego  

Podejrzewam, że brakuje jeszcze Take It Away Snakepitu. Z tego co wiem to jeden z pierwszych numerów, z którym chłopaki poszli do Axla.

PS. Fall To Pieces w żadnej formie nie istniało w tamtych czasach.

Jesteś pewien? Wydaje mi się, że gdzieś już o tym czytałem, że Slash napisał fall to pieces z myślą najpierw o Gunsach.

Nie mogę soie jednak wyobrazić tego 'zaginionego albumu z '96', który miał być mieszanką znanych nam ChD i 5 o'clocka Snakepitu, te płyty są tak różne od siebie, że trudno je razem porównywać

IMO dema TWAT, IRS i Cathera z 1999 nie różnią się tak mocno od Snakepita jak finalna wersja 'Chinese Democracy'.

Podejrzewam, że brakuje jeszcze Take It Away Snakepitu. Z tego co wiem to jeden z pierwszych numerów, z którym chłopaki poszli do Axla.

jak zaznaczyłem - to nie moja tracklista także.... hehe... ja wiem na 99,9%, że na pewno miało być na płycie This I Love

natomiast ciekawe jest to, że tak jakby faktycznie Fall To Pieces było nagrywane z myślą o GNR - może nie w tej formie co znamy z Velvet Revolver
